It looked incredible on the big screen. And the physics are still, to this day, more realistic than any other 'space' film that I'm aware of.Antimatterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11537899917101495453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27736617.post-15628435007661505062008-01-30T22:26:00.000+00:002008-01-30T22:26:00.000+00:00Well, it's not really something that easy to follo...Well, it's not really something that easy to follow but to think that it was made on 1968 just amazed me so much. I kept thinking how on earth they have the technology to create such a movie, I'd probably thinking in different way if it's made recently (now, it's getting even more way off topic :))Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27736617.post-50915151084463912842008-01-23T08:50:00.000+00:002008-01-23T08:50:00.000+00:00I hated 2001 when I first saw it as a kid. Then I saw it years later during my uni days, and while I could appreciate the calibre of filmmaking on display (helps that it was at the cinema - spectacular!) I still felt that I wasn't really getting the film at all. Maybe I never will, but I need to see it again real soon!

Maybe the fact that I feel the need to see it is testament to its Antimatterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11537899917101495453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27736617.post-81578210489930090892008-01-23T08:37:00.000+00:002008-01-23T08:37:00.000+00:00Another movie that I feel like I need to watch it ...Another movie that I feel like I need to watch it again. I saw it few years ago with no Indonesian subtitle and just completely lost.
I didn't know that it was originally a Kubrick's project. I just saw his movie 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time and still can't get it out of my mind. It's probably one of the best movie experience ever, especially that it was made on the 60's. But as you said... it went on.. and on.. and on.. until I was almost screaming @ the screen for Spielberg to END the damned thing!

A good idea I thought though ruined by the usual over sentimentality.
