Binary marble adding machine

For anyone who has a basic understanding of binary numbers and arithmetic, here's something cool... [it's a youtube video]

The creator's website has more details, and also features a bunch of other woodwork related content.

Cool find! The wooden binary adding machine is fascinating to watch. I "stumbled" upon your blog by clicking on the "Next Blog" button on mine (also a review site sort of like yours). Check it out if your interested, though I'm still getting caught up on all my reviews - http://miguelopinion.blogspot.com/

Hi there, yeah it's quite fun to watch the machine in action. I can't take credit for finding it though, it was passed on to me by someone else!

You may want to see this movie in terms of TAOSIM. The story of the film is based on the concepts of TAOISM in that all things are interconnnected and that nothing is independent. This is the concept known as dependant arising . Nothing is independent and therefore "empty ' of that independence. The story underscores that it is only in working together, in our destinies, that we go forward to do compassionate service and open our collective minds the to wonders of the universe.

Thanks for that interesting comment, I think you've got something there with regard to the way the group has to work together to save Story. Although I have to wonder about the people who were incorrectly chosen, who ultimately didn't really have any purpose at all...

The ideas in the film weren't the problem, it was the way those ideas were conveyed.. the story and mythology lacked imagination, and to be honest the whole realization of their purpose and coming together lacked a true sense of wonder, which undermined the profoundness the film was trying to convey...
